Under the Arches

These images were taken under the arches of the old flyover where NW Lovejoy St. elevated to meet the Broadway Bridge. Rumour has it they were originally created as part of a Workfare programme back in the 1940's; if anyone knows the full story, I would be most interested to hear it. The railway yard adjacent to the site has recently been redeveloped, and the flyover demolished. Unfortunately I did not catalogue all the work there at the time, just the ones that struck me. If anyone photographed others, I would be happy to post them here. I have tweaked the contrast, hue and colour saturation of these images in an effort to enhance your viewing pleasure; hopefully without changing them too much from the original.
